GALLUP OPENS LUNCH PROGRAM For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me...Matt 25:35
With the help of volunteer cook Bill Camarota (pictured here at work) Catholic Charities of Gallup has started a lunch program for those who homeless. The program began on July 19 and since that time, between 45 and 80 people have joined together for a noon meal at Catholic Charities on Highway 66 in Gallup. As word of the program has spread, the number of patrons has increased. Bill serves up a variety of foods he prepares each day. The program began after those who normally visit Catholic Charities during the winter months for breakfast asked for help with their lunch. The location where they had usually eaten was torn down for renovations. So, Bill Camarota agreed to help and this new outreach to our sisters and brothers in need was begun, thanks again to you who help to support the work of Catholic Charities in the Diocese of Gallup. And thanks too to the generous people like Bill Camarota who are willing to give of their time and talent to serve others.
If you would like to help Catholic Charities of Gallup to continue its outreach to the homeless, the hungry and those in need, please contact us and we will show you how you can offer your time, talent and treasure in the name of Christ.
